The aim of the project is to provide food hampers to BAME vulnerable struggling families during
covid-19 pandemic while combating child and holiday hunger. The first phase of the project was
funded by Newport city council and more than 300 families benefitted.
The second phase of the project was funded by BAWSO who are overseeing and delivering funds
through a new grants programme on behalf of Comic Relief and the National Emergencies Trust.
Here, 400 BAME families from Newport will benefit through the provision of cultural appropriate
