NEWPORT MULTICULTURAL WARMBANK

The charity run a WARM BANK space for people from ethnic minority’s background who were struggling financially due to cost of living crisis. Our warm bank provided a heated safe place where people visited in winter and receive info, advice & assistance on cost of living crisis provided by a Community Connector from Newport city council. The warm bank hub at Clarence House heated at 21C had free coffee, tea, biscuits, snacks, fruits, squash drink & sweets. In addition the group delivered a mental health peer to peer activity supported by the Psychologist for Ethnic Minorities. In addition, the warm bank delivered board games, knitting, flag dancing and an internet café.

BE THE DIFFERENCE

Our aim is to support healthy communities in Wales and Zimbabwe. We do this through establishing food banks, local environmental action and youth work provision in both Newport and Mufakose.

You can join our volunteer scheme which sees youth from Newport visit Mufakose and youth from Mufakose visit Newport on cultural exchange visits.
